Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect at my dental visit?

When you come to our dental practice for your regular checkup, Dr. Winter will perform a thorough oral examination, checks for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, and oral cancer. After a detailed assessment of your current dental health, Dr. Winter may suggest restorative and/or cosmetic treatments that will restore and renew your oral wellbeing.

What are digital x-rays?

Digital x-rays are the latest in dental imaging technology. They are the safest, most efficient way to take images of your teeth, gums, and bones. They emit 80% less radiation than traditional x-rays. Digital radiographs are taken via sensors placed in your mouth. Because the contrast and density are optimally enhanced with superior grayscale resolution, Dr. Winter can more easily detect problems with your oral health.

Do you accept dental health insurance?

For the convenience of our patients, we accept most dental health insurances. However, we are considered an out-of-network provider. We work to ensure you receive the most benefits from your coverage, and will file claims on your behalf.

What are my payment options?

We offer several kinds of payment options, including cash, credit cards, dental insurance, and patient financing through CareCredit. Your payment is due at the time of service. We will estimate the portion due for patients using dental health insurance with the expectation you will pay any balances in full. Please take a moment to further review our financial policy.

Do you see new patients with dental emergencies?

Yes! We do our best to get new patients and patients of record a same-day appointment if they’re experiencing a dental emergency. If you’re experiencing a reaction after treatment, a crown falls off, or you’ve had dental trauma, call us immediately at 404-373-2667.
